LYDIA MARIA CHILD

For my final project I have 3 stories by Lydia Maria Child, I came across her in my searches and have really grown to like her. She is a woman writer of the 19th century and is very interesting to read. She has some really diverse pieces of writing and it has been a lot of fun reading her stories. I also found a site that has a bunch of short biographies of African American writers. It is cool to look at because you get to really see all the different less known African American writers of the 19th century.

I decided to change my final project from young writers to abolishionist women. I have been reading about this one woman in particular. I really k=liked one of her stories. It was about a slave holder who is not particularly horrible to his slaves. He figured out that the slaves were all planing a secret. He followed them to a secret meeting one night and the story is what he saw. It was a pretty cool story and I think I'll use it for the webpage.
